Mingled with Voids is a photographic series built around a set of rules and conducted during long, performative sessions. The photos are taken in total darkness, capturing fleeting reflections produced with only a handheld torch and a small mirror.
Each session lasts for hours: reflections are erratic, motion blur is inevitable, and the senses overload. What remains are blurry, hypnotic silhouettes and grainy voids that seem at once accidental and intentional.
The prints are developed with a homemade Caffenol-based recipe rather than conventional developers, which gives them their texture and tone.
